Samoa will welcome international travellers from 1st August 2022 and in preparation for the reopening, a series of developments and new processes have been put in place to ensure Samoa is travel ready, and that the health and safety of the local community and international travellers is of utmost priority.
Samoa's robust preparations include its own digital contact tracing app, training and upskilling for local employees, upgraded travel instructions and bolstered testing capabilities.
Samoa’s entry conditions have been eased to-date and in the lead-up to reopening, the Ministry of Health has indicated that requirements will be relaxed further, giving confidence and inspiring travellers.
For the time being, here is what you need to know:
1) Fully Vaccinated
Travellers must be fully vaccinated with the prescribed 2 doses of vaccines pre-qualified by the World Health Organization (AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Janssen-single dose, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Covaxin, Novavax).
2) Proof of Vaccination
A legitimate vaccine certificate is required for boarding. Being fully vaccinated implies completion of the required prescribed doses.
3) Negative Covid Test
A Supervised Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within 24 hours of departure or PCR, taken within 48 hours of departure.
