Dutch Masters
The Dutch Masters are artists largely associated with the 17th Century and are some of the most famous artists to have ever lived.
Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Frans Hals are the first artists that come to mind but there are many more. We include Van Gogh (painting in the 19th century) on this list due to his unique style and fame. Rembrandt’s epic painting The Night Watch (1642) is displayed at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, along with Vermeer’s The Milkmaid (1658). Vermeer’s painting Girl with a Pearl Earring (1665) and Rembrandt’s final Self Portrait (1669) are at the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis, The Hague.
