Food & Cuisine
Seasonal and regional produce are plentiful in the Netherlands.
The province of Zeeland is famed for its oysters and mussels and the North Sea waters off The Hague are world-renowned for herring. The island of Texel in the north, produces some of the best lamb in the world; as the lamb graze on the salt marshlands adding to the flavour of the meat. You cannot beat the asparagus found in the Limburg region. Green asparagus grows here, but it is the white variety that is especially delicious and famous. Then of course there is cheese! Gouda and the Cheese Valley boast some of the best flavours in the world!
